Bringing Ariana Grande's retro-futurism vision to life through motion and typography

"My favorite part about this project in particular was working with Ariana and the fact that she had such a unique vision. A big part of her inspiration was retro-futurism and the space age so we used a mono-spaced font to make the brand feel almost like a NASA document. We also brought in the idea of anti-gravity in the way we animated the logo and text on the site and even the way the products float within the category grid ties back to the idea of outer space."

Customer experience and UX design as core brand pillars

"r.e.m. beauty was such a cool project for us in that it was a UX, visual and brand project all in one. From the UX perspective, one of the bigger challenges was figuring out how we could design out a site that would scale as Ariana’s brand would evolve and new makeup chapters would be released. So at the beginning we focused heavily on doing user journeys and user flows to really help us understand how a user would navigate the site and what entry points would be really important."
